13 May OxyBatt kick-off meeting in Barcelona
Last May 9th, the OxyBatt partners gathered in Barcelona to officially kick off the work of the OxyBatt project.
The OxyBatt project aims to offer a new battery product, built upon an innovative technology for a thin-film rechargeable system that utilizes oxygen storage. Unlike conventional commercial batteries, the system is inherently safe and thermally stable, making it well-suited for use in hazardous environments at high temperatures.
The project is made up of five partners: IREC from Spain, Technische Universität Wien from Austria, Nano4Energy from Spain, Day One from Italy and AEInnova from Spain. Each partner is responsible for one or more work packages: these cover the various aspects of the project, i.e. administrative, technical and product development (business).
The kick-off meeting took place in Barcelona, at IREC’s headquarters, which also coordinates the project, and was very important in allowing the consortium of partners to meet and begin planning the first actions. Throughout the duration of the project, which is three years, the OxyBatt consortium will meet periodically to discuss the progress and the milestones achieved and to mitigate potential risks that may affect the success of the project.
