OxyBatt presented at MATSUS26 in Barcelona

In March 2026, the OxyBatt project took part in MATSUS26 – Materials for Sustainable Development Conference, held in Barcelona, Spain.

The event brought together researchers, scientists and innovation stakeholders working across materials science, energy technologies and sustainability, providing a valuable platform for scientific exchange and discussion on the future of advanced materials and energy systems.

During the conference, Federico Baiutti, coordinator of the OxyBatt project, delivered a presentation entitled “Engineering Oxygen Stoichiometry in Mixed Conductors for Next-Generation Energy Devices” as part of the session “Lithium Batteries and Beyond: From Fundamentals to Materials Discovery.”

The presentation provided an opportunity to showcase the work carried out within OxyBatt and to contribute to ongoing discussions on oxygen-based battery technologies for demanding operating environments. It also offered the chance to engage with researchers working on complementary topics, exchange perspectives and explore emerging trends in the field of advanced energy devices.

Participation in scientific conferences such as MATSUS26 is an important component of OxyBatt’s dissemination activities. Beyond increasing the visibility of the project, these events foster collaboration, encourage knowledge exchange and help connect the consortium with the wider scientific community.

As the project continues, OxyBatt remains committed to sharing its activities and engaging with researchers and stakeholders working to advance the next generation of sustainable energy technologies.
