19 Feb New scientific publication for the OxyBatt project
We are pleased to announce the publication, by our partner IREC – Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya, of a scientific paper in which grain boundary engineering is validated for fuel cell cathodes giving a demonstration on how a purely electronic conductor can be transformed into an excellent ionic conductor through thin-film nanostructuring:
Leveraging Grain Boundary Effects for Nanostructured Electrode Layers in Symmetric Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

The discovery of high grain boundary conductivity in a stable material like lanthanum chromite opens possibilities for other applications—including oxygen battery anodes, as we are exploring in our OxyBatt project.
